Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Calvary Chapel Anaheim Hills (CCAH)

Q 1. How many members or offerings are at CCAH?

A 1. People say, "How many people have been saved?" we don’t know, but God knows, although we acknowledge that God has arranged over 1,000 units of communities, 7 sober living facilities, over 200 units of veteran community, KJV English & RVR Spanish Bibles & 200 lunches per week for the homeless, and over a million online visitors (Mat 22:2). It doesn’t matter. It’s something we leave the numbers with God. He knows those that are His and that’s the important thing. Therefore, we don't worry about the numbers of the members and of tithes and offerings because God has given the increase, He has added them to CCAH so far (1 Cor 3:7; Acts 2:47; 2 Sam 24:1-3), not as we have done at all, and CCAH is His own church (souls), the Lord's church, "all in all," purchased with His blood (Mat 16:18; 1 Cor 6:20). Since His foolishness is wiser than men, such as all men's visions/ plans/ programs (1 Cor 1:25; Zechariah 4:6), and His thoughts unto each soul are more in number than the sand (Psalm 139:17-18), we are just active obedient followers of the Lord, venturing out in faith, "Let CCAH go, let God."

And if you did indeed receive the increase, why do you boast as if you had not received it? (1 Cor 4:7)

For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ (2 Cor 2:17), CCAH continues faithfully in teaching the entire Bible simply without alteration, fellowship, communion, and prayers, being the witnesses to Christ, powered with the Spirit, in Jerusalem, all Judea, Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8; 2:42, 47). The truth the Word of God matters wherever - offline, indoor, outdoor, online, at sea, or in sky - and whenever - Sunday, Saturday, weekday, every day, this generation time, or the future generation time (John 5:39; 17:17). The truth shall make us free (John 8:32), from where Christ is named, where commercial capitalism is controlling, where territorial boundaries are lined, or where racial, material, or hereditary partiality underscores. Touchable over 1,000 souls by offline and foreseeable over 1 million souls by online at CCAH are being fed by the whole counsel of God throughout the Spirit, living by every His word (1 John 2:27; Luke 4:4). CCAH does care about each soul because we believe that everybody is impartially created by God in His image (Gen 1:26) -- regardless of race, gender, age, wealth, or education such as Caucasian, male, youth, rich, Ivy league graduate, or not-- and that the eternal value of each soul is much greater than the value of any material/ temporal/ perishable things on the earth (James 3:17; Mat 16:26).

When God leads, God provides. So, we don't seek money because it follows the faith in the almighty Lord by the love of God. Therefore, we never ask people for money, but would offer what we have to the Lord and pray Him to handle the issues (like Andrew rather than Philip in John 6:6-9). Individually, we can discern our each mind before the Lord, as how much love for Him can be observed by dividing willing expenditures to God by total expenditures the money index (Luke 12:34; 21:2-3). We know that any offering to God without willing mind is not accepted by God (2 Cor 8:12). The public love money especially in capitalism society because without money capitalism would not exist. However, we as Christians should not love money but should know its nature (1 Timothy 6:10). CCAH has been controlled not by money even in the capitalism society but by sovereign almighty God. The foundation of CCAH finance has begun from a homeless person's 2 dime offering to the Lord for CCAH at the Rock Fortress facility. The willing mind part for an offering should always prevail over its money part. We have spent offerings/donations about 40% for external ministries (for missions in Philippians 4:15-19 & for charity in Matthew 25:40) based upon our faith of "one church (Eklesia) on the earth" -- the holy universal church, not unholy ecumenical church -- (e.g. 1st Quarter 2014, 43.15%; 4st Quarter 2013, 55.6 %; 3rd Quarter 2013, 20.11%; 2nd Quarter 2013, 55.91%; 1st Quarter, 2013 43.26%; 4th Quarter, 2012 45.57%, etc.), rather than spent them for additional social/cultural/popular internal programs. But about 60% for the internal ministries following the model of the early church in the Book of Acts is spent for sheep to be fed with spiritual food (Galatians 6:6) and for staff (1 Timothy 5:17-18).

CCAH is the poor in material and spirit, but is the rich to give it away for Christ's sake, e.g., about 40% of annual offerings, with the poor hearts in spirit. The Lord is the shepherd of CCAH who is "as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things" (2 Cor 6:10).

Acts 2:42 "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." Acts 2:47b "...And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."

Matthew 16:26 "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"

1 Corinthians 4:7 "For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?"

Q 2. What CCAH & CCB each stands for?

A 2. CCB stands for "Christian Character Builder," which was formed as a fellowship to be just like Jesus at Sierra Vista Business Park, 130 S Chaparral Court #240, Anaheim Hills, in 1993. CCAH stands for "Calvary Chapel of Anaheim Hills," which was named and recognized as a member by Calvary Chapel Outreaching Fellowships (CCOF) in 2003, called as Calvary Chapel Association (CCA) in 2012, as well as a member by Calvary Global Network (CGN) in 2016. So, now both CCAH and CCB are officially used, registered exclusively as a California Non-Profit Corporation, under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Q 3. Is CCAH an English speaking Church or a Korean speaking Church?

A 3. Both. Although CCAH was initially planted by Korean speaking people, God has added more English speaking people to CCAH. We have close fellowship, have prayed for each other, have same Sunday messages, and often together "quaterly services," "retreats," "mission trips," etc. Also, Spanish speaking ministry has been opened as well as Farsi speaking ministry (i.e. Muslim ministry - most Iranians & Afghanistans are speaking). CCAH has no distinction among races but languages. CCAH simply is not an ethnic church but the Lord's leading church, and so we don't know how in particular the Lord is leading CCAH but only He knows all things. In 2018, God has built His church, CCAH, with most English speaking people (about 70% one white and the others 30% - black people and Asians), 15 discipleship places through the Bible study per week, from offline (over 300 Sheep) to online (over 1 million), and from modalities to sodalities.

Romans 10: 12 "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him."

Q 4. What the Bible is used as a textbook?

A 4. For English teaching, King James Version(KJV) or New King James Version(NKJV) is used because KJV/NKJV is mostly close to the original Bible (written in Hebrew for OT and in Greek for NT). But the original Bible & other versions (NIV, ASV, ESV, Living Bible, etc.) are used as references. For Korean teaching, a traditional translation version is used although the original Bible or KJV is often cited.

Q 5. How do you teach?

A 5. The entire Bible itself- either KJV or NKJV - as a textbook is used. Its teaching is verse by verse inductive expository as accurately as possible, to the original Bible or God's heart, whatever called traditionally bible study, discipleship, or any fancy words. Other theology books, Christian books, or anything else are used merely as references, neither above nor even equal to the Bible itself. Also other version Bibles are used as references to the KJV or NKJV. Sometimes examples are given for sole purpose to understand, not to please men. In 2018, 7 groups among 15 groups use daily Self-Bible Reading/Study Plan in reference to a weekly example of teaching in the spirit through verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and book by book, up to the Old Testament 1 time & the New Testament 2 times per year. So, today you would be more like Christ than yesterday upon your daily close fellowship with the Lord. In the other groups, a book of the Bible and an evangelical Christian book have been used by three ways -- tutorial way, Socrates way, and facilitator way.

Acts 20:27 "For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God."

Deuteronomy 4:2 "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."

2 Corinthians 10:5 "Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of God."

Q 6. What kinds of ministries does CCAH supply?

A 6. The Lord’s ministers are not seeking His sheep’s possession, but His sheep’s being to be presented perfectly in Christ Jesus to the Lord, until the Lord comes again (Rom 8:4, 14; Mat 16:18; Col 1:29; 2 Cor 12:14). Hereby, CCAH (Very members of the Body of Christ) as not just a local church of One Church but externally through internet on the Earth is just following the Spirit's direction. So far Online Word for Global Crusade, New Books, Mission Fields, Biblical Educational Counseling, Rosarito Mexico Mission Trip, Scotland Mission Trip, Uganda Mission, Italy Mission, Dumaguete Philippines Mission Trip, Sudan Mission, Iraq Mission, France Mission, North Korea Mission, Kenya Mission Trip, Preschool & Kindergarten Ministry, Calvary Chapel Conference Twin Peaks Retreat, Calvary Chapel Conference Murrieta Retreat, Temecula Retreat, Community Outreaching, Homeless Ministry, Prayer Support Group, Music Ministry, Education Ministry, Email Ministry, Mail Ministry, and so on have been supplied.

Romans 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

Q 7. What denomination does CCAH belong to?

A 7. CCAH doesn't belong to any denomination, although she does neither oppose nor support it, because a denominational church which is upon the principles of doctrine of Christ within diversities of activities in the same Spirit who works all in all is accepted for one body of Christ on the earth, but a denominational church divides the one body of Christ is not accepted (1 Cor 1:13). For example, any denominational systematic theology may be gladly used to understand the Scripture, not vice versa. CCAH is a member of Calvary Global Network (CGN) and of Calvary Chapel Association (CCA), formerly named as CCOF, among other over 1,500 calvary chapel churches. Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational Bible-based Christian church which began in 1965 in Costa Mesa, California. Calvary Chapel's pastor, Chuck Smith became a leading figure in what has become known as the Jesus Movement.

1 Corinthians 1:13 "Is Christ divided? Was Paul Crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?"

Q 8. Whose church?

A 8. CCAH is God's own church & Jesus' own church, which means that we are living by His Word & Spirit, because God owns the CCAH local church and Jesus bought CCAH (souls, not a material building) with His blood (Acts 20:28), as Jesus said to Peter, "I will build My church" (Mat 16:18) -- neither your church nor our church. We commit that understood word to the Lord by faith, although we often hear of a person/people's church in a real world. So, we neither think nor believe any member/person's church. Consequently, CCAH adopts a theocracy, following His direction "Let go, let God," but she neither adopts a democracy nor an autocracy.

2 Corinthians 1:1 "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia:"

Matthew 16:18b "...I will build My church..."

Q 9. Do you confess the Apostles' Creed during Sunday main services? And do we speak with the tongues in prayers?

A 9. We think the Apostles' Creed as the most effective "the principles of the doctrine of Christ" (Heb 6:1) reference to the Bible compared to any other theological books/ references. But it is never deemed as the same authority as the Bible itself, although it was mostly cited from the Bible. So, we don't always confess it during the services, even if we believe in the terms of the Apostles' Creed which are within the zone of the authoritative Bible, as expressing fundamental facts of Christian faith. However, sometimes we may sing it as a song during the services.

According to 1 Corinthians 14:4-5, 28, we would like that all should speak with tongues, but we do speak with tongues to the church (the saved people, not a building) only with an interpreter. Otherwise, we keep silence in the church. And each may speak with tongues by himself/herself to God joyfully.

Who can be against God, practically against the Scripture?

Faith Statement

Hebrews 6:1, "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God."

1 Corinthians 14:4-5, 28 "4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5 I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification. 28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God."

Q 10. Is CCAH a Protestant or a Catholic church?

A 10. She appears a Protestant church as well as other Calvary Chapel churches. But we were not formed to protest Roman Catholic church or to reform an existing church but by the Spirit to restore to the early church in the balance between the Bible and the Holy Spirit (whole counsel of God & led by the Spirit), stated in the Book of Acts.

Revelation 3:10 "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth."

Q 11. What is the British style of the Sunday School/Service?

A 11. Without arbitrary separation of their ages, in the Sunday School are elementary, middle/high, and college/career students warmly united to each group and taught by teacher(s) like a traditional British school or a charter school.

Matthew 19:13-14 "Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Q 12. Who is the Senior Pastor?

A 12. He is officially Wayne Kim. But he feels that the Senior Pastor of CCAH is -- in cooperation with the Board & the Staff -- the Lord Jesus Christ because his expectation is not from himself but from God and he wants to see a continual movement of the Spirit of God to be supple, flexible, and pliable outside of a religious custom to a new work of the Spirit recently through internet. Every minister or sheep will receive his own reward according to his/her own labor after the Spirit (1 Cor 3:8; 1 Cor 15:58; Romans 8:5).

Psalm 62:5 "My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him."

Q 13. Are you hungry for the Word of God and thirsty for the Holy Spirit?

A 13. If "Yes," you would be content to go to CCAH since in the Holy Spirit you can read & understand the Word of God by yourself and apply it to your daily life toward His kingdom & righteousness. You may daily have the fellowship or intimate relationship with the Lord. Then, your relationship with others would be well. But if you are thirsty for fun, it would be hard to be content because CCAH is exalting God rather than pleasing men. Now those members who like wisdom/reasoning in the Bible more than mighty works/experiences close to the Bible are about 70% of CCAH.

Galatians 1:10 "For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ."

Q 14. Where is CCAH or CCAH PRESS located?

A 14. CCAH began to minister at the community center located at 8201 E Santa Ana Canyon Road, Anaheim Hills, CA 92808, USA, on January 17, 2003. We are not customary Christians -- the church set up by customs-- but the Spirit Led Church in the whole counsel of God -- wherever the Spirit leads us ( like GPS navigation , for His kingdom), CCAH is doing actively according to His word. So, the CCAH PRESS was growing from the ministry of New Books. And by many uncared people throughout Covid-19, the Lord has expanded to many facilities, over ten, through His active obedient followers, in light of Matthew 9:35, "Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people" and of Romans 15:20, "And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation." Meeting Places

Q 15. When did CCAH PRESS the ministry begin?

A 15. CCAH PRESS began through brother S J Chang the decedent's founding heart as of June 30, 2009 for feeding millions of starving souls with spiritual food and drink, in Matthew 24:35, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." And the CCAH PRESS® at US Patent & Trade Mark Office (USPTO) was registered a a trade mark on October 9, 2018. The CCAH PRESS® has published over 20 books, yet not by us but by the grace of God with us.

Q 16. When did CCAH PRESS work with Amazon.com?

A 16. CCAH PRESS began with Amazon.com -- Filled By Amazon (FBA) -- as of August 29, 2010 for the sale of Paperbacks and of Kindle Books (eBooks) because we don't usually buy and sell anything in the church. The CCAH PRESS® is protected by "Amazon Brand Registry" at Amazon.com.

Q 17. When was "https://ebook.church" opened?

A 17. Through Covid 19, extreme high volume of Kindle Amazon caused the technical problem "unable to sign into Amazon KDP - error 404 page showing" on October 7, 2021, after the closure of KDP lending library program on January 4, 2021, so that https://ebook.church was opened for the sale of pdf eBooks in color to spread His words the holy things globally, lest swine or dogs trample them under their feet, on October 15, 2021, while paperback books in black/white are still on sale at Amazon.com for CCAH PRESS, as you type key word "ccah press wayne kim" and choose a book. After the closure of the KDP lending library program, a discounted or free Code as an alternative is being used on the eBook store.

Q 18. Why are not the three (3) original books listed on ebook.church?

A 18. Because all files formatted by Word & PDF at CCAH Press were attacked by "Cryptolocker" malware virus via the file of pretended prayer request, likely trampled by swine or dogs, on May 1, 2014, but we refused to pay any payments to the attacker for the restoration in light of the prohibited compromise word of God (2 Corinthians 6:14-16). So we had tried many ways to restore for 5 years, but the three (3) books original files -- (1) The Spirit Led Life: in the Whole Counsel of God; (2) 1st Chinese Version The Spirit Led Life; and (3) Guidance, Q & A, Or Supplement were not able to be restored. So, we are so sorry for the three (3) books, as the eBooks in color, not able to be listed to the "All Products" at ebook.church. It lessoned us to "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). But the paperbacks in black/white are available at Amazon. See New Books for details.
